I had really never heard of a coil car prior to a few weeks before I got this car. Evidently these cars carry large spools, or coils, or wire and/or metal to wherever they might be needed. This is nicely built car with a good weight and with little plastic coils of metal under the lid for a touch of added realism. I specifically chose this Southern version of the coil car to match other Southern cars that I'm adding to my collection. Purchased Nov. 2005. |
