Eric's Power Supplies
I've got a few transformers in my arsenal right now. I'm in the midst up upgrading my main power system so that it will work with the MTH digital command system. Here's what I've got right now...

Lionel 6-22983 180-Watt PowerHouse Power Supply
This is currently my layout's primary power supply. Just a big, poweful brick. I was running the set with the MTH Z-1000 (below), but I took on too many engines for it to handle. Since I've replaced the Z-1000 with the powerhouse, everything's been running smoothly.

RailKing (MTH) Z-1000 Transformer
A nice 100 Watt transformer. I started off powering my MTH DCS controlled layout with this little guy. I've since replaced it with a 180-watt Lionel PowerHouse (above), but I will still use this on either another line of track or for some accessories. The nice thing about this set is that I can put the controller in the closet and just use the power brick by itself to plug directly into the DCS TIU, like the PowerHouse above |

Lionel postwar ZW transformer
The classic ZW remains one of the best transformers Lionel has made to this day. This hefty 250 watt monster has 4 seperate power channels, so it's great for running multiple trains as well as accessories all at the same time. The new age of digital command trains has made the old ZW a little obsolete in some situations, but it's still a powerful workhorse and it will always have a place on my layout. This thing reminds me of the energizer bunny. It just keeps going and going. |

Lionel Type 1025 45 watt transformer
I picked this little guy up used for $10 at a local train store. I use it to power the switches on my layout, for which is has been perfect. |

Lionel Type 1033 90 watt transformer
I picked this up on ebay for $20 and it sits on my workbench for when I need power for my test track. A good, realiable transformer. |
