Friday, August 26th, 2011Back from the dead!
Wednesday, August 24th, 2011Well, the engine that I thought would never run again lives again! Today the UPS guy dropped off the freshly repaired Lionel Vision Line CP ES44 that was so badly damaged last year when it took a trip off a shelf and onto a concrete floor. Looks and runs good as new. Lionel’s repair shop in Canfield, OH did a superb job as always. The repair cost was a bit steep (as expected), but I think I did the right thing. After all, it was so heartbreaking to see this thing sitting on my workbench in pieces.

Here we go
Thursday, August 18th, 2011I have to report to the hospital bright and early tomorrow morning for yet another knee surgery. I’m sorta getting used to it now. So I won’t be able to crawl around under the layout for a couple weeks. Fun times.
Under the weather
Friday, August 12th, 2011I’ve had a bit of a cold for the last couple days, so the Lionel Vision Hudson review has been on hold…since I can’t talk very well. Hopefully I’ll be able to resume sometime over the weekend.

Friday, August 5th, 2011Here we go again…
Monday, August 1st, 2011So I had surgery on my left knee in March of last year. Now it’s my right knee’s turn…again. I’m scheduled for another arthroscopy procedure in mid-August. While the real downtime is only a few days, doing work on top of and underneath the layout will be difficult for a week or two. This is my 3rd arthroscopy procedure in the last 6 years so I’m sorta used to it now.
For those of you who are medically curious as to what the problem is, it’s another meniscus tear (this is my 3rd). I don’t think my menisci enjoy backpacking and/or crawling underneath layouts. Oh well.
