Lionel’s Vision Line 700E Hudson

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

So the new Lionel Vision Line 700E Hudson arrived today. It’s a very interesting engine to be sure. On the one hand, it is definitely not the most detailed model I’ve ever seen (like you’d expect for a vision line engine). On the other hand, however, it is a fantastic take on the classic 700E engine that Lionel made in the 1930′s. I would describe this engine as “The Vision Line version of the 1930′s 700E” rather than “The Vision Line version of a hudson engine” and, in fact, that’s why Lionel calls in a “700E” and not simply a “Hudson”. So, as long you know what to expect, this is a wonderful locomotive. I do think it’s a little overpriced, however. I’ll do a full video review of this great engine in the near future.

Slow days of summer

Saturday, July 2nd, 2011

I’ve been busy taking a few family trips and buying a new car (got a new 2011 Ford Explorer!), and I’ve got an upcoming business trip in July, so layout and video progress has been a little slower than normal. The next video release will be a review of some Atlas freight cars. That should be out within the next week. Thing should start getting back to normal by the end of July. Hope everyone’s having a great summer!
